28th IPS Conference - Chandigarh

The 28th IPS Congress at Chandigarh started with the pre-conference courses on 22nd and 23rd November,
2000.
The inaugural function was at the CII building and the Chief Guest was His Excellency Shri Babu Parmanand, Governor of the State of Haryana.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. Hari Prakash, President of Indian Dental Association, released the congress manual containing the members directory. A momento was also presented to him for his contribution and achievements as a member of the Indian Prosthodontic Society.
The Dr. B.C. Shroff Memorial Oration was rendered by Dr. K. Bhargava he presented an overview of the peripheral seal in complete denture.
The post graduate students' convention where scientific papers and posters were presented was on 24th Nov. 2000. The scientific session starting on 25th and ending on 26th saw presentation on a variety of aspects of Prosthodontics.
This conference has set a trend of social work by providing 100 free dentures in the region in various dental colleges at Mullana, Sundernagar, Yamunanagar, Ludhiana and Shimla under the I.P.S. banner.
Besides the scientific activities, on the evening of the 24th November, a welcome dinner was hosted at the world famous 'Rock Garden'. A banquet was hosted at the world famous P.C.A. Cricket stadium.
The closing ceremony was a moment of bidding a farewell till we meet again at the 29th Conference at Hyderabad in 2001.
